WELCOME CHAIRMAN’S WELCOME Welcome to The Arts Society Oundle. Under the umbrella of our national body, The Arts Society, we host lectures in the Barnwell Village Hall, near Oundle. These are held every third Friday of the month between September and June, 10 lectures in all. There are normally no lectures in July and August, although we have put on extra talks in the summer months during the period of limitations imposed by Covid-19. Our nationally qualified lecturers cover a wide range of topics on all aspects of the Arts and related issues – please see our programme for an idea of the range and scope of subjects. Our annual fee (reduced to £35 this year) covers the 10 lectures. In addition, and at an extra cost, we normally run Study days, consisting of three talks on a scheme and lunch, as well as organising trips and visits for members, when such activities are possible. Initially, our 2021/22 programme will continue with lectures provided on-line using Zoom, a system which has proved highly successful over the past year, until we are able to return to our normal style of ‘live’ meetings in Barnwell Village Hall in January, when we hope to have lectures available in the hall and on zoom. We are a vibrant society whose membership of just over 300 has held up remarkably well during the pandemic. However, we still do have some additional places available for new members and details of how to join can be found on the Membership Page. The National Arts Society website will give you details of all other activities and benefits available to members – see The Arts Society page of this website. Please keep checking back with our website for the latest information. *************** Chairman Nigel Harper outside our venue
