WELCOME The EGM and AGM of The Arts Society Oundle were held in September this year by e-mail and post, with all members being given 35 days statutory notice of the resolutions. In the absence of any objections, the amended constitution was accepted and all resolutions at the AGM were passed. The minutes of both the EGM and the AGM, as well as the amended constitution, are available to view from links on the Membership Page. CHAIRMAN’S WELCOME The welcome that follows this introduction is what was posted before the coronavirus pandemic, giving information about our normal operation when we could meet for lectures at the Barnwell Village Hall. We are leaving it there in the hope that “normal service will be resumed as soon as possible” as BBC TV used to announce when things went awry. The website will be regularly updated, of course. At the moment, we are hosting remote live online lectures using Zoom, still at the traditional time of 11am on designated Fridays. Next year’s programme will be, for the foreseeable future, run on the same lines, with members receiving their invitation link to join lecture meetings by email. Details will be on the website. Welcome to the Arts Society Oundle. Under the umbrella of our national body, The Arts Society, (formerly The National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies - NADFAS) we host lectures in the Barnwell Village Hall, near Oundle. These are every third Friday of the month between September and June, 10 lectures in all. There are no lectures in July and August. Our nationally qualified lecturers cover a wide range of topics on all aspects of the Arts and related issues - please see our programme for an idea of the range and scope of subjects. Our annual fee (reduced to £30 this year) covers the 10 lectures, but we also run, at additional cost, Study Days - usually three lectures on a theme, including lunch - as well as Trips and Visits. Again, the programme will give you an idea of their typical range. We are a vibrant Society of 320 members but do have some spaces available. Please see the Membership page on how to join.
